The Greater Hartford St. Patrick's Day Parade breaks attendance records annually, bringing more than 60K people to downtown in celebration. The Greater New Haven St. Patrick's Day parade, Connecticut's largest single-day spectator event, attracts more than 300K along the parade route and is the nation's 6th oldest parade. Best float competitions between towns, Irish step dancing and bagpipe performances are just a few highlights to catch along parade route(s). Fox 61 and the Hartford Courant cover it all, with pre-parade participant interviews, information for spectators and more. Each year Hartford and New Haven readership take to the internet to vote for CTNOW’s Best Ofs, their favorites from dining to music and hair stylists to tattoo artists. Each April/May Hartford Courant Media Group invites CTNOW Best Of winners to a reception and photoshoot to celebrate their victories. Each October, more than 2500 people fill the streets of West Hartford’s Blue Back Square to kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month with The Hartford Courant’s Pink Party. Blue Back Square goes pink for a night, hosting this block-party event with live music, dancing, breast cancer survivor fashion show, dance performances, food sampling, pink carpet photoshoots, raffle and much more. Exhibitors showcase everything from all local things to see and do to domestic and international destination travel, most of which offer exclusive, cost-saving expo specials onsite. Attendees line up early before the doors one to score early bird giveaways from sponsors and exhibitors. Show highlights include a complete onsite ski shop offering deep discounts on top brand ski and snowboard equipment, gear, boots, apparel and accessories. The Manchester Road Race, is a time-honored Connecticut Thanksgiving tradition. More than 40K runners and spectators of all ages and from all over CT and beyond come out for this 4.75mile roadrace, celebrating its 80th anniversary. Racers in costume can participate in the onsite costume contest, and spectators cheer on their friends and family. Fox 61provides live race day coverage and interviews prior to race day.
